The roller coaster continues. We met with the veterinary oncologist, Dr. Jones, who had the final say in this nightmare. Essentially, Skylar will need 16 weeks of radiation treatment, costing a whopping $7,000. Since that is approximately 1/3 of my salary, I am going to have to decline the radiation treatment. It didn't sound like it would "cure" her; simply delay the tumor's growth and give her another year. Without treatment, Sky has about 2-4 months before she shows signs of neuropathy. Dr. Jones was unable to say how long after that she might live. In light of this pretty terrible news, I've decided to make every moment with Skylar count. Today, my good friend (and talented photographer), Janne, took us out to a gorgeous field of bluebonnets and we frolicked in the Spring sun. Take a peek:
